The Center for Research & Technology opened in 2007.
The Center is designed to promote collaboration and creativity and to develop technologies that improve Altria's operating companies' current products and lead to innovative new products.
The 450,000 square-foot facility is located in downtown Richmond in the Virginia BioTechnology Research Park. It includes a fitness center, cafeteria, company store, collaborative atrium, library, lecture hall, outdoor plaza and community green space.
The Center was formerly known as the Philip Morris USA Center for Research & Technology.
